This tutorial focuses on an online service to host and resize your images, the next tutorial will concentrate on uploading direct to PPS using the "Attachments" function.

I have checked out a few alternatives to upload and share photos to the forum, and have come to the conclusion that if you don't want to muck about with resizing images, or don't have a Flickr or Picasa account, then Imgur is probably your best bet. You don't need to sign up to an account, its simple, hassle free and with no steep learning curve. Imgur hosts your images for free.

I would recommend signing up for an account as you have more control over your images and can create albums so you don't "lose your photos". You should be aware of this particular condition though:

    The Tutorial
Assuming you have the photos somewhere on your computer or laptop then head over to http://Imgur.com where you will see the homepage. On the right hand side click "Computer"

Then navigate to the photo you wish to upload and click on "Open"

In the next popup you have the chance to add more photos to upload, and you can see your chosen photos at the bottom. When ready click the "Start Upload" button.

Once your photo has uploaded you will see this very important screen. The most important bit here is to ensure "Large Thumbnail" is in green at the bottom right. That will ensure you have a sensible sized photo displayed in your forum post. Once "Large Thumbnail" is selected right click the embed code under the "BBCode" title and select copy

Now your ready to paste the code directly into your forum post by right clicking and selecting paste

When you preview the post it should show the photo, if it doesn't then check the embed code is correct and that it begins with [IMG]
