I think we could all see a few of these spaces flip into WFH offices.
Carpets pulled up, new floor laid, new ceiling lights installed and a lick of paint.
Really love the colour Maid of the Mist (CC-728) and Aura Satin in the trim.

Thank you Sir :doff:........ or are talking about the colour

Hardest bit was the lighting ! Thought it’s be easy as had access from the above room, link to the existing rose, drill out the holes and bobs your uncle..... until I lifted the boards and realised there was a void in between (the downstairs ceiling had been lowered) so had to drill out the holes blind. Sod’s law, only two of the holes didn’t hit a beam or noggin :yell_:.

Lights, flooring and painted in 4 days (2 of us for the floor and lights, 2 days).

    well chuffed with it

The whole job looks amazing. Colour and how you have done it...
The old knock test you can hear joists. Still a bit of a lottery but if you start at the edge where you know there is a joist, there are diamonds every 16inchs on tape measure for this reason. There is another mark at 19 inches on tapes and continue along tape. They are for joists and frame spacing. Find the second one with a knock at 16 inches and your away with tape measure diamond marks for joist location. Small 3mm drill if unsure. Everyone is going to look at tape measure now. Some places are anything to 22 inches but most around 16

Went over some crap contract matt or some other cheap garbage, so first coat was a struggle but the 2nd coat was a dream and used 50% less.
I’ve never thinned BM Aura before (other than 1st coat on bare plaster) but if I go over contract or cheap again, I would.

@RonyT I have found it best to use SureSeal if I have come across a porous contract matt. Or even just Gardz.
Then the BM Regal/Aura/Ultraspec is nicer to apply and doesn’t have the life sucked out of it on it’s first coat.

I think greens will become the new greys over the next year or so!

Lovely work there, great transformation! That green is very similar to the one I did my lounge in yesterday, BM October Mist’. Just finished hanging 3 rolls of f& b Ocelot in the green, crap to hang but effective when up.

Currently doing a huge lounge in BM fatigue green, very dark but I think it will look great with reddish oak flooring. Clients away atm so slight concern that they will bottle it on the colour when they get back and ask for a re-dec, haha.... Have to say I've always liked a nice green but seldom been asked to do it since the late nineties.

I can remember when everyone wanted a "Sage green" colour particularly in conservatories for some reason.

I did a feature wall in Fatigue Green a couple of years ago, not my bag. It's defiantly a statement colour but looked great against a white trim.
