Just to let you know, the industry is heading into some pretty unpleasant supply chain bottlenecks as globally, we begin recover from the pandemic.

These issues are already beginning to hit us on some third party branded products. Manufacturers can't get hold of raw materials, as there is insufficiant supply capacity to meet the huge pent up demand.

It's affecting all sectors, but in our sector, there is a major shortage of polymers, affecting some paints, sundries and plastics. There are also major issues with steel and aluminium which is impacting prices. Some of the problems are amplified by Brexit which is impacting customs and tariffs.

We'll end up having to buy all the crap paint out of the big sheds as they are probably still getting supplied before us trades.

It is crazy times but the manufacturers are working extremely hard to mitigate increases and ensure that existing customers aren't let down.

The British Coatings Federation and Construction Products Association have both recently published updates that are worth reading along with a few other bits:

I won't be able to get my regular cod, shrimp and ice berg lettuce sandwich for dinner tomorrow. I'll get a haddock, prawn and little gem instead

    Soooo 90's

I am pleased to say that the rather quaffable 2002 Dom Perignon is still readily available, so at least we won't die of thirst.
Worryingly, Jeeves did mention that Wagu Beef wasn't available in Fortnum & Mason today.
