Hi guys, I was introduced to the above book a number of years ago whilst lecturing at a local college , I consider it to be my 'bible' for reference in marbling and woodgraining , it gives step by step techniques in full colour, and is suitable for all skill levels.
Im looking to add to my library of this type of book , do any of you guys have a 'bible' that you swear by ? Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully expanding my collection with some real gems , thanks colin

That is lovely work there, @colin hardman :notworthy:
Do you find you are being asked less and less for this type of work nowadays?

I have a large ornate fireplace to marble in the new year, it must be a couple of years since I got the marbling out

It's a shame you don't get to create these works of art more often. Show us some pics of the fireplace when you're on it. If you want to of course

It will be a pleasure to show you the fireplace when its done , not sure which marble I will be painting yet , my customer will decide when I show her some samples , I really enjoy this type of work, it is a shame we don't do more mistcoat

Unless you specialise in broken colour techniques, you just never get asked for them, the last time I marbled anything was 1982 in college. It's a shame because it's the one area of our trade that I find interesting
