Just finished this on the 17th September 2010,she was in a bad way
Tryed to edit it and ran out of time so heres how it should look.
Big job there Brian. I like the cream colours on teh window frames. Was that a bit of window care needed on the bottom left hand sill? Was it superdec? Don't forget to put the escutcheon back on the front door & give the handle & letter plate a polish whilst you're at it please
It is nice to see the original windows on the front facade & the gilded '27' above on the fanlight. It is a pity the fluted glass was put in teh front door, I would suspect also, that mullions have bee cut out of teh top half of teh door as well, as I doubt very much that there would have been an aperture of that size originally. It is possible that it could have has a leaded glass panel of course.
Was in the process of putting the furniture (escutceon)back on the door when taking piccies and cleaning glass and brass etc.It was all in a very sorry state not been touched for well over ten years Considering it was in such bad condition there was very little rot.Rake out,dry with heat gun, wood hardener and two pack fill.Ofcourse it was Superdec wot else ?.Door was Dulux pre 2010 hollybush gloss two coats as well (wicked sheen)Door had some serious work.
P.s yes glass in door looks a bit bog standard.
Cor Blimey! You did a good job there bringing that back to life Brian.
